Cenomi Retail names Hussein Shobokshi Chairman, Ahmed Al Arabi Deputy

Fawaz Abdulaziz Alhokair Co.’s (Cenomi Retail) board of directors appointed Hussein Shobokshi as Chairman, and Ahmed Al Arabi as Vice Chairman for the current term.

 

The company stated that Hussein Shobokshi holds a bachelor's degree in Management and Political Science from the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma. He also completed advanced executive programs at the University of Virginia and INSEAD.

Shobokshi is a prominent Saudi businessman with extensive experience across various sectors. He serves as an economic advisor to leading institutions and is a columnist for Asharq Al-Awsat, a major Arabic-language newspaper. He was honored as a "Global Leader for Tomorrow" by the World Economic Forum and was the first Gulf businessman selected for the Prince of Wales Business Leaders Forum.

 

As for Ahmed Al Arabi, he holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. With over 35 years of leadership experience, Al-Arabi currently serves as the Head of Retail at Al-Futtaim Group, where he has led organic growth, acquisitions, organizational transformation, and international expansion.

 

In a statement to Tadawul, the company pointed out that the board appointed Abubakr Al Futtaim and Tariq Al-Tuwaijri to fill the vacant board seats.

 

Abubakr Al Futtaim holds a bachelor's degree in International Studies and Political Science from Macalester College, Saint Paul, Minnesota. With over 20 years of experience at Al-Futtaim Group, he currently holds an executive role within the retail division, overseeing strategic direction and operations across several international markets.

 

Tarek Al-Tuwaijri holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Arab Open University and an Executive MBA from King Saud University.

 

With over 25 years of experience, he has extensive expertise in wealth management and has held several leadership roles in financial transformation and strategy. He previously served as Executive Vice President and Advisor to the CEO at Arabian Centres Co. (Cenomi Centers).

 

The company noted that the board’s approval is not final and the appointments will be presented for approval at the next General Assembly meeting.

 

Cenomi Retail’s board approved, on Sept. 15, the resignations of Chairman Fawaz Alhokair, Vice Chairman Abdul Majeed Alhokair, and board members Ahmed Mohammed Al-Sheikh, Ahmed Shaheen, Abdullah Albasri, and Mansour Alajlan.

 

The resignations followed the completion of the private transaction between certain major shareholders of the company and Al-Futtaim Retail through which certain major shareholders sold a 49.95% stake to Al-Futtaim Retail Co, Argaam data showed.
