Saudi holdings of US Treasuries rise to $131.7B in July

Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries increased by $1.1 billion month-on-month (MoM) to $131.7 billion in July, recent data released by the US Department of Treasury showed.

 

Meanwhile, the Kingdom fell to the 18th place among the largest holders of US Treasuries for the month.

 

 

Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries were distributed among long-term bonds worth $104.3 billion, representing 79% of the total. Besides, short-term bonds stood at $27.4 billion, accounting for 21%.

 

 

 

Japan was the top holder of US Treasuries by value in July, with $1.15 trillion, followed by the UK with $899.3 billion.
