Murea Habbash appointed to CMA’s board

Saudi Arabia’s Capital Market Authority (CMA) said today, Sept. 27, that Murea bin Saad Habbash has been appointed as board member by virtue of a royal decree.

 

The CMA expressed appreciation to board member Waleed Al-Eisa, who has been appointed to the Shura Council.

 

Habbash brings extensive academic and professional experience in corporate governance, accounting, financial markets and investment. He holds a PhD in corporate governance from Durham University, a master’s degree in accounting and finance from the University of Birmingham, and is a fellow of the Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA).

 

He has previously served as head of the accounting department at King Khalid University, led governance services at the Public Investment Fund’s Center for Governance, and advised the National Center for Non-Profit Sector (NCNP) and the CMA.
