Riyadh Municipal Transformation Program launched

The Riyadh Region Municipality launched the Riyadh Municipal Transformation Program, a strategic initiative designed to keep pace with the capital’s rapid growth and qualitative development. The program aims to align with Riyadh’s global ambitions by enhancing readiness, improving service delivery, and supporting the scale of current and future projects, as well as major international events hosted by the city.

The program was introduced to address three key priorities: accommodating the city’s growing population and spatial expansion, ensuring that municipal services are tailored to local contexts across Riyadh’s districts, and enhancing the quality and efficiency of service delivery models.

As part of this initiative, the municipality restructured its operations by transforming 16 sub-municipalities into five regional sectors, each empowered to deliver both direct and indirect municipal services within specific geographic zones. The transformation is centered on improving operational efficiency, raising service quality, and aligning offerings with residents’ needs and local characteristics.

The program also introduces new entities known as “My City” offices, which serve as community-facing hubs to strengthen engagement between residents and the municipality through customer service and community participation initiatives.
