Sahara International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem) headquarters
Sahara International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem) resumed operations today, Oct. 8, at International Methanol Co. (IMC) after completing maintenance.
In a statement on Tadawul, Sipchem said the maintenance works will have a positive impact on the plant’s efficiency, enhance reliability, and reduce costs in line with the company’s future operational plans.
It added that the financial impact of this shutdown will be reflected on the company’s results for Q3 and Q4 2025, noting that all necessary measures have been taken to avoid any effect on the company’s obligations toward its customers.
Last month, Sipchem announced a plan to suspend operations at IMC for maintenance, according to data available on Argaam.
Sipchem owns a 65% stake in IMC, while the Japan Arabia Methanol Co. (JSMC) holds the remaining 35%. The company has a share capital of SAR 360.97 million and produces methanol (methyl alcohol) with an annual production capacity of 970,000 metric tons.
