Public investment fund assets rise 42% to SAR 206.2B in Q2 2025

Assets of public investment funds in Saudi Arabia grew to SAR 206.2 billion in Q2 2025, jumping 42% from SAR 145 billion in Q2 2024, data from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) showed.

 

 

The increase was driven by a rise in assets of local funds by 42% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 177.1 billion in Q2 2025, which represent 86% of total assets. Meanwhile, assets of foreign funds (14% of total assets) rose by 46% YoY to about SAR 29.1 billion.

 

The assets of local and foreign investment funds include stocks, bonds, cash instruments, other assets, and real estate investments.

 

 

 

The public investment funds are divided into open- and closed-end funds, with the total assets of 301 open-end funds at about SAR 175.7 billion, or 85% of the total assets. The assets of 27 closed-end funds reached nearly SAR 30.5 billion in Q2 2025.

 

 

 

 

 

The number of active public investment funds reached 338 as of Q2 2025, compared to 322 in Q1 2025.

 

 

The number of subscribers to investment funds rose by about 10,000 to reach about 1.61 million at the end of Q2 2025.
