Obeikan Glass says the new facility will boost production capacity, expecting the financial impact to show starting Q4 2025

Obeikan Glass Co. announced the start of commercial operations at Saudi Aluminum Casting Foundry (SAC) today, Oct. 13.

The company said on Tadawul that the launch was delayed due to the late connection of utilities and completion of the related paperwork from the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON).

There has been no change in the project’s scope of work and, therefore, the associated costs remain unchanged.

The financial impact of the project is expected to appear in the company’s financial statements starting from the fourth quarter of 2025.

According to data compiled by Argaam, Obeikan Glass signed a partnership agreement with Al-Esra Aluminum Factory in August 2023 to jointly establish and operate an aluminum casting plant with a total investment of SAR 73 million. The project’s trial operation commenced on Dec. 16, 2024.

The plant is located in Madinah and will specialize in manufacturing and casting various aluminum products.

Obeikan Glass owns a 60% stake in the project, while Al-Esra Aluminum holds the remainder.
