Simah Rating Agency (Tassnief) has affirmed its long-term credit rating of “A (pi)” and short-term rating of “T-2” for Mobile Telecommunication Company Saudi Arabia (ZAIN KSA).

The agency stated that the ratings reflect the company’s strong credit profile, noting that the issuer is considered to have high creditworthiness and therefore low credit risk.

The rating reflected the current market position of Zain KSA, supported by its solid customer base, robust network infrastructure, and balanced business and financial profile.

It also took into account the company’s strong governance framework, underpinned by effective internal controls, comprehensive strategic planning capabilities, and a firm commitment to operational transparency and disclosure practices, according to the agency.

Saudi Arabia’s telecommunications sector continues to demonstrate relative stability in its risk profile, with revenue sources that are less exposed to economic cycles, similar to utilities companies, driven by sustained demand for telecom services, Tassnief added.

It also stated that the credit ratings remain influenced by the company’s ability to expand its market share, effectively execute its business strategy, and maintain improved profit margins.
