By the end of Q2 2025, 12.87 million public and private sector employees registered in Saudi Arabia’s social insurance scheme, the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) data showed.
Insured citizens reached 2.96 million, accounting for 23% of the total subscribers. Meanwhile, the number of insured expatriate workers reached nearly 9.91 million, or 77% of total registered employees.
Social insurance subscribers working in the private sector reached 12.26 million at the end of Q2 2025, representing 95% of total registered employees.
Regional distribution shows that Riyadh accounted for the largest number of insured workers with nearly 6.16 million, followed by the Eastern Province (2.42 million) and Makkah (2.19 million).
During the three-month period, 158,610 individuals suspended their social insurance subscription.
Saudi citizens who stopped their subscriptions during the period accounted for 57% of the total, or 90,420 subscribers, while the number of non-Saudi subscribers reached 68,190, representing 43% of the total.
