Saudi Arabian Amiantit Co. signed on Oct. 19 a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) during the Saudi International Railways Conference and Exhibition held in Riyadh. The MoU aims to enhance mutual cooperation in the development of railway infrastructure across the Kingdom, according to a statement on Tadawul.

The MoU seeks to strengthen collaboration between both parties in developing and improving stormwater drainage networks and utility protection systems, through the use of glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) pipes.

The two parties also agreed to exchange expertise and conduct practical testing to support their shared objectives and mutual interests.

This cooperation is intended to enhance the efficiency and reliability of stormwater drainage structures; support logistics services and improve constructability of railway infrastructure and utilities; and develop sustainable infrastructure, contributing to lower long-term maintenance costs.

The MoU is valid for two years from the date of signing, with no immediate financial impact expected from this agreement.

Amiantit confirmed that no related parties are involved, and that any material developments related to the MoU will be disclosed in due course.
