The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's flag
Foreign direct investments (FDIs) inflows to Saudi Arabia grew to SAR 1.02 trillion as of Q2 2025, representing 34% of the Kingdom’s total FDI.
FDI is defined as an investment that reflects a long-term relationship and sustained interest from economic entities based in an economy outside of Saudi Arabia. This indicates that a foreign investor owns at least 10% of the shares' voting power, giving shareholders the ability to direct or sway decisions in ways that best suit their interests. This procedure is therefore categorized as FDI.
Foreign investments in Saudi Arabia stood at SAR 3.05 trillion by the end of Q2 2025, up 17% year-on-year (YoY), according to data from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).
For the same period, portfolio investments, which include equity, investment funds, and debt bonds, reached SAR 1.19 trillion. Other investments amounted to SAR 841 billion.
