Minister of Health Fahd Al-Jalajel
Saudi Minister of Health Fahd Al-Jalajel told Argaam that the ministry is continuing with the implementation of the privatization programs across several areas, including radiology services and dialysis services, along with other initiatives that are announced periodically.
Speaking to the media during the Global Health Exhibition 2025, Al-Jalajel stated that the total value of investment agreements signed so far has reached around SAR 124 billion, all with the private sector, compared to SAR 55 billion during the previous edition. He expects this figure to increase further in the remaining days of the exhibition.
These investments cover several key sectors, including the localization of healthcare industries, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, hospitals, and medical services. The exhibition saw participation from several global CEOs and health ministers from various countries, who discussed challenges and future trends in the global healthcare sector, said the minister.
Healthcare quality is measured through various indicators, such as patient satisfaction, procedure quality, and the safety of facilities and practitioners. These metrics are monitored by several entities, including the Council of Health Insurance, the Saudi Health Council, and the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), he added.
Al-Jalajel also indicated that the Saudi healthcare sector is witnessing increasing interest from both local and international companies, noting that over 12 agreements to localize healthcare industries were signed in the presence of the Minister of Industry. “This reflects the success of the healthcare transformation plans and the Crown Prince’s continued oversight of this vital sector,” he said.
