Minister of Transport and Logistics Saleh Al-Jasser said that the ministry is seeking to privatize certain roads, starting with the Makkah-Jeddah highway.

During his speech to businessmen at the Saudi Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Al-Jasser added that the ministry's privatization agency will begin work within weeks, according to Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper.

Transportation projects are set to quadruple for investors, said Al-Jasser, noting that the ministry is considering reducing the value of transportation violations upon early payment.

He noted that 10 trains will be purchased for the Riyadh East line, to be delivered in 2027.

Al-Jasser also indicated that the ministry would intervene in cases of unfair competition in the delivery sector, pointing out that there are concerns about delivery bicycles and that the ministry is considering designating specific areas for them.
