Almunajem says Thamer Abanumay resignation effective Dec. 31, 2025


Almunajem Foods Co.’s (Almunajem) board of directors accepted the resignation of Thamer Abanumay from his position as CEO due to personal reasons. Abanumay's last working day will be Dec. 31.

 

In two separate statements to Tadawul today, Nov. 16, the company said Abanumay will continue as a member of the board, and has been appointed Managing Director, effective Jan. 1, 2026.

 

The company added that, based on the recommendation of the nomination and remuneration committee, the board appointed Ali Hassan El Zain as the company’s CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2026.

 

El Zain holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in business administration, in addition to completing the Leadership Development Program at Agility – Switzerland. He has more than 24 years of experience, including with leading global companies in international trade, logistics, and supply chain management.

 

He currently serves as Deputy CEO at Almunajem and as CEO of Almunajem’s subsidiary, Optimal Solutions Co. for Logistics Services (Loadly), the statement added.

 

El Zain has also previously held several leadership positions, including serving as CEO of DSV Logistics in Saudi Arabia, executive director of sales and marketing at Agility Logistics, trade and operations manager for the Finatrade Group (Ghana-Africa).
