MSCI implements periodic changes to Saudi market today

Saudi companies in MSCI Small Cap Index reached 37, while the Global Standard Index now includes 90 Saudi companies. 


MSCI will implement today, Nov. 24, its changes to the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul) in line with its periodic index review announced on Nov. 6.

 

As required by global index management services, the changes will be executed during the closing auction and the trade-at-close session.

 

MSCI introduced changes to its Global Standard Index, removing Saudi Aramco Base Oil Co. (Luberef) and Nahdi Medical Co., while downgrading Al Rajhi Company for Cooperative Insurance (Al Rajhi Takaful) to the Small Cap Index.

 

Meanwhile, MSCI removed Alandalus Property Co., The Mediterranean and Gulf Insurance and Reinsurance Co. (MEDGULF), Walaa Cooperative Insurance Co.Advanced Petrochemical Co., and Saudi Public Transport Co. (SAPTCO) from the Small Cap Index, while adding flynas Co. and Specialized Medical Co. (SMC) to the Small Cap Index.

 

As a result, the number of Saudi companies included in the Small Cap Index reached 37, while the Global Standard Index now includes 90 Saudi companies.
