Service exports down 10% in Q2 2025 as imports rise 6%

Saudi Arabia’s service exports reached SAR 62.2 billion in Q2 2025, marking a 10% year-on-year (YoY) decline.

 

Compared to Q1 2025, services exports fell by 16%, according to the International Trade in Services Statistics issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).

 

The publication aims to build a database measuring the impact of services on the balance of payments across 12 national service categories, hence supporting the development of the national economy.

It covers various service activities, including transportation, travel, financial services, telecommunications, and other internationally traded services.

Travel services recorded the highest export value at SAR 37.2 billion, representing 60% of the Kingdom’s total service exports, with personal travel accounting for roughly 90% of that amount.

 

Transport services followed with SAR 10 billion (around 16% of total).

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s service imports amounted to SAR 126.8 billion in Q2 2025, after increasing by 6% YoY.

Transport services contributed the lion’s share of the second-quarter total at SAR 36.1 billion (28%). Travel services followed, dominating nearly SAR 31.8 billion.
