Residential mortgages to individuals down 32% to SAR 5.5B in October

Residential mortgages provided by banks to individuals declined 32% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 5.55 billion in Oct. 2025, data issued by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) showed.

 

 

The total number of residential mortgage contracts signed between banks and individuals reached over 8,000 in October 2025.

 

 

The average value of new residential mortgage loans fell by 6% YoY to SAR 691,000 during the same period.

 

Mortgages for residential villas accounted for the largest share of total bank financing, amounting to SAR 3.66 billion, or 66% of the total, in October. Apartments followed with SAR 1.52 billion, while land plots came in third at SAR 357 million.
