AlUla Governorate welcomed over 240,000 visitors by Q3 2025, with an average spending of approximately SAR 2,100, exceeding the target of SAR 1,400.
The 2026 budget statement notes that these results reflect the positive impact of Saudi Vision 2030 on the tourism sector and underscore AlUla’s ongoing development as a premier global destination for historical, heritage, and cultural tourism.
The Royal Commission of AlUla (RCU) has set new targets, including developing an index to measure the total daily expenditure of tourists with a target of SAR 1.6 billion, and an index to measure GDP of AlUla Governorate.
Additional targets include measuring the total number of overnight visitors—covering business, leisure, religious, or family visits, in both paid and unpaid accommodations—with a target of 320,000 visitors.
According to data available with Argaam, the Council of Ministers approved the 2026 state budget today, Dec. 2, setting public expenditures at SAR 1.31 trillion and estimating total revenues at SAR 1.14 trillion, resulting in an expected deficit of SAR 165.4 billion.
