Budget 2026: 7% increase in gas production, energy reserves expansion

Saudi Arabia's 2026 budget showed that the Kingdom aims to increase its natural gas production capacity by 7%.

 

The Kingdom also seeks to replace and maximize its oil and gas reserves by replacing 100% of the 2025 production of crude oil and condensate.

 

Further, the Kingdom aims to add 7.5 trillion standard cubic feet of crude gas, to maintain its leading position in the oil and gas markets and ensure the continuity of local and global energy security.

 

Among the state's objectives are the launch and implementation of some projects to develop commercially feasible local technologies in the field of renewable energy, including advanced solar cells, energy storage, smart grids, and green hydrogen, with the aim of supporting Saudization, enhancing local content, and enabling innovation.

 

The country also seeks to increase the storage capacity of aviation fuel at King Salman International Airport project to meet the growth in passenger numbers. The project includes the construction of three new tanks simultaneously with the increase in the volume of demand for aviation fuel until the 2040 plan, to ensure the security of supply to the airport.
