Domestic tourists are a key driver of sustainable growth, said Princess Haifa Al Saud, Deputy Minister of Tourism.

Domestic tourist spending exceeded SAR 105 billion by the end of the third quarter of 2025, marking an 18% increase, she added.

Speaking at a session during the 2026 Budget Forum, she added that the total number of tourists, both domestic and international, reached 116 million, with total spending in the tourism sector amounting to SAR 275 billion.

She explained that the current strategy focuses not only on tourist numbers but also on targeted markets and spending growth. As a result, the number of tourists from Europe rose by approximately 14%, and those from East Asia increased by around 15%, following the targeting of these markets.

Al Saud also noted that the fourth quarter typically records the highest growth, supported by initiatives such as Saudi Winter, Saudi Seasons, and other programs, which continue to drive expansion year after year.
