GAMI Governor Ahmad Al-Ohali said that 64% of the sector’s workforce is Saudi nationals

Ahmad Al-Ohali, Governor of the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), said the number of local companies operating in Saudi Arabia’s military industries sector increased from five to 344, covering various manufacturing and services fields.

Speaking during the 2026 Budget Forum, Al-Ohali stated that local content in military spending reached 40%, noting that spending on military industries rose from 4% in 2018 to 25% in 2024.

He said that 64% of the sector’s workforce is Saudi nationals.

Al-Ohali said GAMI’s efforts have created an attractive investment environment by guaranteeing market demand, establishing 140 new industrial capabilities, and building factories to manufacture or maintain military equipment over the past six years, in addition to providing incentives and supporting supply chains.

The Governor called on investors to capitalize on the opportunities available in Saudi Arabia to contribute to the growth of the military industries sector and further enhance local content.
