The Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) signed a contract with Arabian Agricultural Services Co. (ARASCO) to establish a logistics center for storage and distribution at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
The project carries an investment value of SAR 200 million and spans 40,000 square meters, contributing to enhancing the port's capacity to unload and store grain through warehouses with a capacity of up to 100,000 metric tons.
It also includes the construction of a vehicle loading facility and the extension of conveyor belts and tracks for ship unloading equipment connecting berths 37 and 39, the authority said in a statement.
The project will contribute to providing more than 3,000 direct and indirect jobs, supporting supply and distribution networks locally and regionally, in addition to providing value-added services that support economic and developmental activity in the Kingdom, enhancing food security and increasing the capacity of ports, in line with the objectives of the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics.
