An official from Saudi Arabia’s GACA and a senior executive of Archer Aviation sign the MoU for air taxi services

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with US-based Archer Aviation to operate air taxi services across the Kingdom.

The agreement was signed during the CoMotion Global 2025 Summit in Riyadh, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Under the MoU, the two entities will collaborate to develop the regulatory framework for vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft operations, aligning with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification standards and supporting the phased rollout of the service.

The MoU also includes conducting trial flights and proof-of-concept demonstrations to validate the regulatory approach. It will also support infrastructure development and enhance public readiness to adopt air taxi services, the statement said.
