Saudi Arabian Mining Co. (Maaden) received on Dec. 16 the Ministry of Energy’s approval for the allocation of the necessary feedstock for the implementation of its “Phosphate 4” project, according to a Tadawul filing.

The project is expected to produce approximately 1.1 million tons of ammonia. It is also bound to lift the company’s output of phosphate and specialty fertilizers by around 2.5 million tons, raising total production capacity to nearly 12 million tons annually.

Maaden will begin conducting engineering studies and securing other required approvals.

Any significant developments related to the project will be duly announced, in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.
