Global City Dammam is set to serve as an economic and tourism driver for Eastern Province

Eastern Province Governor Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz inaugurated today, Dec. 29, Global City Dammam — a major tourism project, during a field tour during which he reviewed the project’s components and facilities.

The project is being implemented in three phases. The first phase focuses on entertainment and festival areas. It features around 16 international pavilions, about 11 restaurants, and themed districts such as Chinatown and Indian Gully, in addition to carnival rides, arcade games, live performances, a petting zoo, and a Garden of Lights, state-run news agency SPA reported.

The second phase will expand the project through new pavilions, stunt areas, and restaurants, along with a water park. The third phase, meanwhile, involves the development of the Global Amphitheater and a modern residential community that will contribute to the project’s long-term sustainability.

The project also features a central artificial lake, covering an area of approximately 200,000 square meters (sqm), serving as a hub for tourism and entertainment events.

This is in addition to a floating market, an open-air theater with a capacity of about 7,000 visitors—expandable to 10,000—a modern amusement park covering around 15,000 square meters, a range of restaurants, cafés, markets, and pedestrian walkways.

Moreover, it includes integrated infrastructure, comprising three main gates and parking facilities accommodating more than 3,000 vehicles, ensuring ease of access and smooth visitor flow.

The project is set to serve as an economic and tourism driver for Eastern Province, representing a qualitative addition that enhances Dammam’s position as a prominent urban and tourist destination in the Arabian Gulf.

It is expected to attract around 25,000 visitors daily once fully operational, in addition to stimulating economic activity and providing quality job opportunities.
