Southern Province Cement Co. said that the new production line at Jazan Cement Plant, which will replace the current production lines, is 98% complete.

 

In a statement to Tadawul, the company said trial operation has commenced in some production stages in accordance with the scheduled implementation plan.

 

The first trial batch of clinker was produced on Dec. 29, 2025, while all construction phases are expected to be completed, full production capacity achieved, and commercial operation commencing during 2026.

 

The operation of this production line aligns with the company’s strategy to enhance operational efficiency and modernize its production assets by adopting advanced technologies in the cement industry. Moreover, the new production line aims to reduce output costs and limit carbon emissions, effective from the date of commencement of commercial operations.

 

According to data available with Argaam, Southern Cement started, in December 2022, receiving technical and financial offers from companies that applied to compete for the construction of a production line with a capacity of 10,000 tons per day (tpd) at the Jazan cement factory.

 

On May 17, 2023, the cement producer signed a 30-month contract with Sinoma International Engineering Co. to construct a production line with a capacity of 5,000 tons/day and set up infrastructure for another line with a 5,000 tons/day production capacity.
