Al Arabia shareholders to discuss SMC Media tie-up on Feb. 5

Arabian Contracting Services Co. (Al Arabia) scheduled Feb. 5 for its ordinary general meeting (OGM) to vote on the board’s proposal to contract with SMC Media. 

 

In a statement to Tadawul, the company explained that the contract with SMC Media is for the purpose of joint cooperation in marketing, advertising billboards, and attracting advertisers across various locations within Saudi Arabia.

 

This is due to an indirect interest of two board members, Mohamed Abdelelah Alkhereiji, in his capacity as Chairman of SMC Media, and Mohammed Saud Alghaith, in his capacity as board member in SMC Media.

 

Moreover, shareholders will vote on delegating the board of directors to complete the subsequent procedures related to the agreement with SMC Media and authorizing the CEO to sign the agreement, in accordance with prevailing commercial terms and without any preferential treatment.

 

They will also vote on the participation of Chairman Alkhereiji in a competing similar business with the company through his indirect ownership of SMC Media.
