GACA launches new Al-Jouf Int'l Airport with 1.6M passengers/year capacity

Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), announced the inauguration of the new Al-Jouf International Airport, in the presence of Minister of Transport and Logistics Services Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser and Al-Jouf Province Governor Prince Faisal bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz.
 
During the inauguration ceremony, Al-Duailej stated that all construction work on the airport had been completed and operational testing had begun, with the gradual transfer of flights and full operation to be completed in February. 

He noted that the new airport has a capacity of 1.6 million passengers per year, compared to the current capacity of 175,000 passengers per year, a growth rate of over 800% at an estimated cost of more than SAR 440 million.
 
Al-Jouf International Airport recorded an upward trend in air traffic indicators during 2025, compared to a year earlier, with the number of passengers exceeding 720,000, an increase of 18.5% year-on-year, said the top official, indicating that the number of international and domestic flights reached 6,200, a growth rate of 12.6%.
