Saudi Arabia recorded its strongest-ever performance in the tourism sector in 2025, with tourism spending exceeding SAR 300 billion, up from SAR 282 billion a year earlier, Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khateeb said.

In an interview with Al Arabiya TV on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Al-Khateeb said the total number of domestic and international tourists rose to 122 million in 2025, from 116 million in 2024, describing the increase as significant.

He added that inbound tourist arrivals reached about 30 million, placing the Kingdom among the world’s top 10 tourism destinations.

Al-Khateeb noted that tourism growth over the past five years has been the highest among G20 countries, attributing the performance to the broad transformation driven by Saudi Vision 2030.

He also pointed to the continued rollout of major tourism projects, including Red Sea resorts, Qiddiya, and Diriyah, which have bolstered investor confidence in the sector.

In addition, Al-Khateeb said ongoing development in aviation and airport infrastructure, including expanded international flights and new routes, is supporting tourism growth and strengthening Saudi Arabia’s position as a global tourism and business hub.
