Remat Al-Riyadh Development Co. — the development arm of the Riyadh Municipality — announced the signing of an agreement with Innovation & Development for Information Technology Co. (IDIT), the developer of the Park Away application, to develop and operate off-street public parking spots at several strategic locations adjacent to Riyadh Metro stations. This comes as part of the master plan for vehicle parking within the Riyadh Parking Program.
According to state-run news agency SPA, through Park Away — a technology-based application for managing parking in complexes and key locations, the company will develop and operate surface public parking facilities on 17 plots of land. These include seven plots located near Riyadh Metro stations in the Al-Shuhada, Al-Mansourah, and Al-Sahafah districts, while the remaining ten plots are situated in vital locations within the Al-Rahmaniyah, Al-Murabba, and Al-Nasiriyah districts.
These facilities will be developed across a total area of approximately 60,000 square meters, providing around 1,700 parking spaces, it added.
The initiative aims to address the parking shortage in high-density areas, particularly around Riyadh Metro stations, by offering parking solutions that support easier access to various destinations.
