Yansab plans to shut its ethylene glycol plant for 25 days
Yanbu National Petrochemical Co. (Yansab) plans to shut its ethylene glycol plant for 25 days starting Jan. 25 to carry out preventive maintenance in line with industry standards.
The company said the financial impact will depend on the actual duration of the shutdown, prevailing selling prices, and feedstock costs during the maintenance period. The impact is expected to appear in first-quarter 2026 results and will be mitigated through the optimal use of available inventory.
The shutdown follows the plant’s longest continuous operating run under standard technical protocols, demonstrating its reliability, operational stability, and safety.
Yansab said the maintenance will support the production of higher-value and innovative products and enhance its product mix in response to changing market conditions. The company added that it will disclose any material developments in due course.
According to Argaam data, the plant’s monoethylene glycol production capacity stands at 1.065 million tons per year.
