Almasane Alkobra Mining Co. (AMAK) announced the temporary suspension of base metal processing of zinc and copper concentrates at the Al Masane plant for around 16 weeks, starting today, Jan. 22.

In a statement to Tadawul, the company clarified that the temporary halt does not include the precious metals processing circuit at Al Masane, nor the base metal processing plant at Muyeath, or the precious metals plant at Guyan — all of which will continue to operate at full force.

AMAK added that the temporary suspension aligns with the company’s 2026 business plan. It would contribute to improving and optimizing the long-term utilization of the Sada, Al-Houra, and Muyeath deposits.

The company noted that the relevant financial impact will depend on the actual duration of the suspension period and prevailing metal prices. This impact, when determined, will be reflected in the financial results for the first and second quarters of 2026.
