US weekly jobless claims rise moderately

22/01/2026 Argaam

The number of applications for unemployment benefits in the US rose slightly in the week ending January 17, while expectations were for a rise to 210,000.

This data reflects what experts describe as a downward trend in hiring and layoffs, after Trump's trade and immigration policies reduced both the supply and demand for labor, in addition to the uncertainty facing companies and affecting their staffing needs.
