Acwa says its Riverside 2 battery energy storage project in Uzbekistan has begun full commercial operations

Acwa Co. said today, Feb. 12, that its Riverside 2 battery energy storage project in Uzbekistan has begun full commercial operations.

The company received notice on Feb. 11 from its project company developing the 334 MW / 501 MWh system within the Riverside Solar Project (Plant 2), confirming the commercial start date. National Electric Grids of Uzbekistan also verified the plant’s operational status.

Acwa expects the financial impact to appear in its first-quarter 2026 results. The company owns 100% of the project company, which also operates the 200 MW Riverside photovoltaic solar plant (Plant 1) in the Tashkent region.
