SAMA sets financial institutions’ holidays through 2029

The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) announced the official holidays for financial institutions, including Eid Al-Fitr, Eid Al-Adha, The National Day, and Founding Day, for four years starting from this year 1447 AH.
 

In a statement, SAMA explained that the National Day falls on the first day of Libra according to the Umm Al-Qura calendar, while Founding Day falls on February 22. If either National Day or Founding Day falls on a Friday, the holiday will be observed on Thursday; if it falls on a Saturday, the holiday will be observed on Sunday.

Working hours instructions during official holidays

 

- Daily working hours for banks when serving customers during the working days of the holy month of Ramadan will be from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
 

- Daily working hours for bank-affiliated remittance centers and payment service providers during Ramadan will be six flexible working hours, between 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM.
 

- Bank branches, exchange centers, payment service providers, and seasonal branches serving air and sea pilgrims, as well as branches in the holy sites in Makkah and Madinah and at border crossings, will remain open continuously during the Hajj season, including Fridays and Saturdays, to serve pilgrims, Umrah performers, and visitors.
 

- Banks, exchange centers, and payment service providers must open a sufficient number of branches, in addition to remittance center branches, in densely populated areas, locations where needed, airports, and border crossings, to operate during specific periods throughout the Eid holidays, and must announce this through appropriate channels.
 

- Working hours for SARIE during Ramadan working days will be from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, noting that clearing rooms will operate in accordance with the system’s working hours and days.
