Amiantit signed MoU with the Syrian Energy Ministry to upgrade the wastewater infrastructure sector


Saudi Arabian Amiantit Co. signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Feb. 26 with Syria’s Ministry of Energy to support government plans to upgrade and modernise water and wastewater infrastructure, enhancing network efficiency and sustainability.

 

According to Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper, the agreement was concluded on the sidelines of a meeting between Abdullah Al-Abdulkarim, President of the Saudi Water Authority, and a delegation from Syria’s ministry.

 

During their visit, the Syrian delegation was briefed on Saudi Arabia’s water industry model, including its fully integrated framework spanning production, transmission, storage and capacity development.

 

Both sides also discussed the Kingdom’s regulatory and operational frameworks, which have helped improve sector efficiency and sustainability, as well as development and innovation targets across the water supply chain to strengthen water security and enhance reliability in line with global best practices.
