Najran Cement Co. signed today, March 5, a SAR 48.93 million contract with Sinoma International Engineering Co. Ltd. to execute a power grid connection project under the liquid fuel displacement program for its Sultana plant on a turnkey basis.

The eight-month project is expected to enhance energy efficiency, reduce emissions from on-site power generation, and improve operational reliability, Najran Cement said in a statement on Tadawul.

The company had previously signed in July with National Electricity Transmission Co., a subsidiary of Saudi Electricity Co., to build a transmission station supplying electricity to the Sultana plant with a 67 MVA load under the liquid fuel displacement program, according to Argaam’s data.
