Trump postpones strikes on Iran's power facilities as US, Tehran holding talks

US President Donald Trump backed down on targeting Iran's power network on Monday, saying the US and ​Iran have held constructive talks.

 

Conversations with Iran will continue throughout the week, Trump said in a social media post.

 

"I have instructed the Department of War to postpone any and all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a five-day period, subject to the success of the ongoing meetings and discussions," he noted.
