Cryptocurrencies declined in Thursday trading as tensions in the Middle East persisted and mixed signals from the United States and Iran over ceasefire proposals weighed on risk appetite.

Bitcoin fell 1.05% to $70,118 as of 10:03 a.m. Makkah time.

Ether dropped about 2.25% to $2,121.8, while XRP fell 2.03% to $1.3858.

Meanwhile, Hostplus, one of Australia’s largest pension funds, is considering adding cryptocurrencies as an investment option for its members, despite limited adoption of the asset class among its peers so far.
