Saleh Al-Rasheed RCMC CEO says planned Makkah airport aims to meet global standards without impacting nearby hubs.

Saleh Al-Rasheed, the CEO of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites (RCMC), revealed that the commission has completed in-depth studies for the construction of a world-class airport in Makkah, without impacting the economic viability of existing airports in neighboring cities.

In an interview with Harvard Business Review, Al-Rasheed stated that the move is one of the commission's most prominent efforts to contribute to Vision 2030.

Moreover, the airport’s strategic, economic, and investment plans were approved, and “Work will proceed with the private sector to develop the most suitable model for this investment,” he added.

Al-Rasheed also noted that feasibility studies and initial designs for Makkah Metro project were completed and submitted to the relevant authorities to finalize the necessary procedures.
