Syrian Petrol Co. (SPC) signed an executive contract, on April 6, with ADES Holding Co. to develop a number of gas fields in Syria, as part of its strategy to boost gas production and develop existing fields.
In a statement, the company said the contract includes maintenance and development of current wells, in addition to drilling new exploratory wells within the agreed work areas, using advanced technologies to enhance production efficiency and localize technical expertise.
The company added that gas production is expected to gradually increase by up to 25% after the first six months, reaching higher levels of up to 50% by year-end, supporting supply stability.
No further details about the contract were disclosed by either party.
According to Argaam’s data, the two companies signed, on Dec. 10, 2025 an agreement outlining the core principles for gas fields development, operations, and production. It also set the terms and conditions of the final technical service contract, as well as the associated facilities within the contract area, to increase current production.
The agreement covers five gas fields: Abu Rabah, Qamqam, North Fayad, Tayas, and Zamla Al-Mahr, in addition to any other area mutually agreed upon at a later stage.
