Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Competition (GAC) received 75 economic concentration applications in Q1 2026, down 31% year-on-year (YoY), with 51 filings greenlit.
In its latest report, GAC said the average review time stood at 3.8 days during the quarter, while the total value of deals reached SAR 777.8 billion.
Foreign entities accounted for 69% of acquisition plans, compared with 31% for domestic firms.
Acquisitions represented 94% of total filings, while mergers, joint ventures, and additional agency registrations in the automotive sector each accounted for 2% each.
