Industrial activity in Saudi Arabia expanded in February, led by mining and quarrying growth.
Saudi Arabia’s Industrial Production Index (IPI) rose 8.9% to 114.6 points in February 2026 (base year 2021), from 105.3 points in February 2025, General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) data showed.
This was driven by growth in three main activities, namely, mining and quarrying (+13%), manufacturing (+3.6%), and water supply, sanitation, waste management & treatment activities (+8.1%).
IPI is an economic indicator that reflects the relative changes and development in the volume of industrial production, based on data from an industrial production survey that includes establishments operating in mining, manufacturing, electricity and gas supply, and water supply activities.
