05:07 PM (Mecca time) Argaam

Initial jobless claims in the US declined at the fastest weekly pace since February in the week ended April 11, implying continued resilience in the labor market.

Claims were expected to ease to 215,000, while the Department of Labor data released today, April 16, showed the prior week’s reading was revised down by 1,000 to 218,000.

The data coincided with the Easter holiday last week, which may affect accuracy.
