Saudi Arabian Cement Co. to increase Rabigh plant capacity

Saudi Arabian Cement Co. approved a new project to boost the production capacity of the companys plant in Rabigh to meet rising demand, the company said in a statement to the Saudi bourse, Tadawul.

              

The new production line will add a capacity of 10,000 tons a day and is expected to start operation in mid 2017.

 

In January, the cement maker decided to increase its capital to SAR 1 billion from SAR 800million through issuing one bonus share for every existing 4 shares.

 

In 2011, the company announced that it was studying a project to add a daily capacity of 7,000 tons by the fourth quarter of 2014 and it had submitted requests for fuel and electricity to Saudi ARAMCO and the Saudi Electricity Co.
