A company won a bid to conduct civil engineering in the $16- billion Makkah metro project

A company won a bid last week to conduct the civil engineering work of the the $16 billion Makkah metro project, Osama al-Bar, the mayor of Makkah, told Makkah newspaper, without naming the company.

Winners of other contracts, including stations designing and trains, will be picked late next year, he added.

He added that bids for the public bus projects were received and the winners will be picked soon. By 2016, the project will be completed with a 800 buses capacity.
