Saudi Arabia’s eXtra store provides refunds to customers

23/11/2014 Argaam

Saudi Arabia-based eXtra, one of the country's most popular retail stores, has apologized and reimbursed its customers for mistakes that took place during their ongoing discount campaign last week, according to a report published by Al-Watan newspaper.

The stores provided refunds to their customers who did not receive their discounts due to technical failures on the company’s system.

Each customer received a SAR 100 refund on their bill to ensure that they bought their products at the discounted prices.

The report indicated that the move came so that the ministry of trade and industry does not move to shut down the stores for the violation.

According to data available on Argaam, the ministry had decided last week to close down a number of eXtra stores due to its “manipulation” of customers and false advertising.
