Petro Rabigh chairman: Production of specialty chemicals may increase growth potential

Shifting the focus of Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Co. (Petro Rabigh) towards specialty chemical products from consumer product mixes will enhance the company’s growth and investments, said chief executive Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Suwailem.


The GCC petrochemicals sector is now relying on gas, given its better quality as compared to raw liquid materials, he said on the sidelines of the 6th Annual GPCA Forum in Dubai.

Shifting focus to value-added products goes in line with the GCC’s government strategies aimed at creating more job opportunities, he added.
