Petro Rabigh shuts down LLDPE line on technical glitch

Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Co. (Petro Rabigh) faced technical issues that disrupted operations in one line of its linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) plant this week, ICIS quoted a first-hand source as saying on Thursday.

Maintenance on the line is ongoing, but the company has not yet set a date for resuming normal operations.

“They have been trying to restart it, but up to now, attempts have been unsuccessful. So, it is hard to estimate when it will resume production, ”the source told ICIS.

LLDPE production from Rabigh’s two plants in Saudi Arabia is set to near 600,000 tons per year
