Saudi International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem) said on Thursday operations will be temporarily suspended at its affiliates’ carbon monoxide and acetic acid plants for scheduled maintenance as of April 1.
The units, owned by Sipchem’s subsidiaries International Gases Company (IGC) and International Acetyl Complex
(IAC)
, will be halted for 20 and 26 days, respectively.
Sipchem said it took all procedures necessary
to
mitigate
losses
and to reduc
e financial impact
, which is
expected
to reflect on
this year’s financials.
The temporary shutdown was accounted for in this year’s budget,
it
added.
Sipchem
currently
owns 72 percent of IGC and 76 percent of IAC.
